January 2006

An alternate album cover for Ian's first album has been added. Go to the Albums section, and to his first album. At the bottom is a link to view the German album cover for Painted Ladies.

Also in the Recordings section, but under Other, is information about the SCTV DVD box set. There are sound clips for two songs Ian performed: “Hold On” and “Pilot,” both from 1981.

And now a sound clip for “In the Rain” by Tranquillity Base is available in the Singles section. Married people can go there too, however.

IanIan has announced the following concert date.

“I am playing solo (with George Koller on upright bass) at HUGH'S ROOM in Toronto, on January 29th, 2005. I am going to be doing a couple of hours of material spanning 35 years. Actually I have never performed a few of these things live, so this will be kind of fun and frightening.”

January 13, 2005

Ian appeared with Lunch at Allen's at the Canada for Asia benefit concert. Along with Murray McLauchlan, Marc Jordan and Cindy Church, he performed “Perfect World.” Other artists helping out that evening included Rush, Barenaked Ladies, Blue Rodeo, Bruce Cockburn, Bryan Adams, Tom Cochrane, Daniel Lanois, Anne Murray, Celine Dion and others. Over $4 million was raised for relief and long-term development in the communities affected by the December 26, 2004 tsunami.

Alma Records had planned to release The Best of The Boomers for Christmas 2004. Unfortunately, it didn't materialize.
